Adobe Updates Lightroom to 2.2 – Still Getting Error Changing Modules

Ok Adobe.  I love Photoshop CS3 and CS4.  I would probably love Lightroom if I could actually get it to run.  I refuse to reformat my Mac.  I have attempted to fix the problem with every resource available and the only solution I have not tried is to reinstall OSX.  If Adobe can’t fix this problem with an update to Lightroom, both Adobe and Lightroom suck royally.  One would think that Adobe would spend some time actually addressing this issue in their updates but since it has been a problem since v1.5 or prior, obviously they are either too lazy or too incompetent.  If you have this issue and have found no solution or if you have found a solution, please share your experience.  I have discussed this issue in a number of other posts:

I will list the following as some resources that I have found but they didn’t help me solve my problem.

 My hardware is:

Macbook Pro 2.5 GHz
3 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
OSX 10.5.6 (I have tried on versions going back to 10.5)
512 MB GeForce 8600M GT
6MB L2 Cache

I do have the Adobe Creative Suite (CS3) installed.

Hi, I found your comments after a google search. I was having the same problems with Adobe Lightroom displaying the error changing modules display.
I have a macbookpro about 1 year old running Snow Leopard.
Anyway after downloading lightroom 3 beta which displayed the error message I tried deleting the pref. and folders as others had tried, but I had no success. After searching I found various versions 2.6 -2.3 I even went to version 1.3 I think it was, but all gave the error message.
Anyway I came across version 1.0, so before installing I deleted all Lightroom prefs and folders that i could find.
Look in both Library folders/Application Support/Adobe/Lighroom
Home folder/Library/Preferences/com.adobe/Lightroom there are 2 or 3 of these.
I then installed version 1.0 and I was very pleased as it did install correctly, I could then upgrade version by version and am now running version 2.6. So far its performing as it should.
So if you have trouble finding version 1.0 I can upload it for you.
    Hope this helps.
